Due to expansion our engineering department is continually recruiting for Mechanical fitters & Machinists. Multiple positions will be offered. We are a fully equipped engineering workshop completing the design, manufacture, maintenance and repair of machines and equipment, inhouse. We are looking for candidates who possesses the right mechanical skillset; We consider all applicants; we consider non-qualified individuals with industry experience. However, having an industry recognized qualification ensures our apprentice program is fully supported. The Engineering Department is an internal support service, backing multiple businesses who in turn produce insulated sandwich panels.

Our three neighboring sites in Acacia Ridge are NPS, the leading manufacturer of high-quality expanded polystyrene (EPS) products. MetecnoPIR, Australia’s largest manufacturer of high thermal performance PIR insulated panels; and Bondor, Australia’s leader in complete thermal building solutions and lightweight architectural panels.

Located in Acacia Ridge on Brisbane’s south side. Our facilities offer off street parking, or public transport is a short walk away.

As a specialty engineering department your day to day activities will be varied. Our machines expand cut and shape polystyrene, roll-form and cut sheet metal, pick, pack and load flat panel sheets, and a whole lot of machines that support that process.

POSITION SUMMARY

- Perform mechanical repairs, maintenance and manufacture of basic components to support plant & equipment.





- Perform metal working tasks such as basic welding, grinding, shaping and cutting.

- Maintenance of mechanical systems and assembly to engineering drawings.

- Fault-finding and diagnostics of mechanical equipment.

- Contribute skills and knowledge to the development and improving of systems.

- Adhere to the company policies and procedures.

- Assist with Engineering Design and problem solving.

- Assist in the management of a harmonious environment, team building and training of apprentices and other employees as required.

- Restricted Electrical qualifications considered (but not required)

Due to the specialty of the industry, the range in age, type, and bespoke nature of the equipment, this role is best suited to an individual who enjoys learning. All previous experience in general mechanical repairs considered, however it is an advantage to have some of the following:

- Experience in Pneumatics, and/or Hydraulics.

- General fitting and machining

- Flexibility to meet production demands

- Good problem solving / Diagnostic ability

- Good communication skills

- Ability to work well in a team environment and autonomously (Critical attributes).

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

- Mechanical aptitude.

- Mechanical Fitter trade qualifications, (Or equivalent) .

- Third- or Fourth-year Apprentice considered.

- Industry experience in a similar environment .

- Willing to preform Pre-employment medical.

- Forklift license (not a requirement).

- EWP license (not a requirement).

- First Aid (not a requirement)
