Location: Yeppoon | Reports to Manager Financial Services

The Role

Ready to lead a critical function that keeps Council financially strong? As Coordinator Revenue, you'll lead a high-performing team responsible for managing rates, charges and revenue operations, while shaping policies, driving process improvements and providing expert advice across the organisation.

What you will be doing:

Are you an experienced property and rating professional with a strong understanding of local government legislation, property administration, and revenue management processes? We are seeking someone who can:

- Lead and mentor the Revenue team, foster a high-performing, customer-focused culture.

- Oversee the accurate administration and collection of rates, charges and other Council revenue in line with legislative requirements.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, reviewing and enhancing revenue processes, policies and procedures.

- Provide expert advice to Council staff, management, customers and external stakeholders on revenue-related matters.

- Coordinate revenue reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, audits and financial compliance activities.

- Contribute to strategic financial planning through the development of rating structures, fees and charges, and revenue management strategies.

What you will bring:

You are a team-oriented leader who thrives on continuous improvement, complex problem-solving and making a tangible impact with demonstrated:

- Knowledge of the Local Government Act 2009 (Qld) and Local Government Regulation 2012,



with knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 2010 considered advantageous.

- Experience in property and rating administration, including valuation updates and maintenance of property, rating and water assessment records.

- Understanding of State Valuation Roll processes and property lifecycle management, including property creation, amalgamations, subdivisions and land use changes.

- Experience maintaining accurate property and assessment data to support council operations and revenue functions.

- Knowledge of debt recovery practices within a local government environment, including an understanding of legal recovery processes and management of external recovery service providers.

- Familiarity with procurement processes and contract management, particularly for outsourced services such as debt recovery, printing and electronic service delivery.

Mandatory Requirements to be successful in this position:

- Tertiary qualifications in Business (Accounting or related discipline) and substantial experience in a revenue management or accounting focussed position.

- Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver’s licence

Desirable Qualifications, Licences and Experience

- Experience in a local government environment.

- Post graduate qualifications and membership of a relevant professional organisation.
