About the role

The Membership Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the delivery of membership strategy initiatives that strengthen membership growth, retention, engagement and value across Local Government Professionals Australia, NSW. The role focuses on membership lifecycle management, CRM insights, member analytics, relationship engagement, member programs and recognition initiatives, contributing to the Association's strategic objective of building a connected and thriving professional community across local government.

Key responsibilities

- Coordinate the membership lifecycle through onboarding, renewal, retention, re-engagement and progression pathways.

- Coordinate member engagement and communications that promote membership benefits, participation opportunities, recognition and member value.

- Maintain and leverage CRM and membership data to support segmentation, relationship management, engagement planning and continuous improvement.

- Monitor and report on membership performance, providing insights into growth, renewal, retention, participation and member value.

- Build and strengthen relationships with members, identifying opportunities to increase engagement and participation in Association programs and networks.

- Provide high-quality member support and work collaboratively across the organisation to deliver membership strategy initiatives and enhance the overall member experience.

About you

- Experience in membership,



stakeholder engagement, customer service or coordination roles, with a strong focus on relationship management and member value.

- Demonstrated ability to use CRM and database systems to maintain accurate records, generate reports and support engagement initiatives. Use of iMIS highly regarded.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality member support and prepare explicit, professional correspondence.

- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities across member engagement, lifecycle activities and reporting.

- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving capability and a commitment to continuous improvement, service excellence and enhancing member outcomes.

- Ability to work collaboratively across teams to deliver membership initiatives and improve the overall member experience, with local government experience being highly regarded.
