Are you an experienced property, land management or natural resources skilled ready to step into a leadership role with real impact?

We're looking for a Group Leader, Property Management & Stakeholder Engagement to lead a high-performing team responsible for managing a diverse Crown estate portfolio, navigating complex land management challenges, and building strong relationships with communities, government agencies, Aboriginal stakeholders and industry partners.

This is a unique opportunity to influence the future use and stewardship of Crown land while balancing environmental, cultural, economic and community interests.

The role

You’ll lead the management of Crown land, assets and natural resources, applying strong property management expertise to deliver effective outcomes. You’ll build trusted stakeholder relationships while leading and coaching a team to achieve high performance in a fast-paced environment.

The role focuses on resolving complex land and tenure issues, providing expert advice, and balancing environmental, community and operational priorities. You’ll be leading a small team delivering licences, reserves administration, environmental investigations, property management, land use planning, internal and external stakeholder engagement (including Aboriginal stakeholders) and Ministerial correspondence. You will also prioritise and manage operational issues and team resources to achieve planned business and financial outcomes and have a good understanding of Crown land frameworks while delivering results and maintaining partnerships across government and communities.

Note: This role is not similar to a real estate property management role.

What you will bring to the role

- Demonstrated experience in property, land, environmental or natural resource management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships across diverse groups.
- Experience providing high-level advice, briefings and recommendations on complex operational matters.
- Knowledge of land management, planning and environmental legislation.
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, achieve business outcomes and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.

What is an essential requirement:

- Tertiary qualifications in natural resources, planning, environmental science, land management or other relevant field and/or equivalent professional experience
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
