Hyper Robotics is Melbourne's autonomous cleaning robotics company. We deploy AI-powered floor cleaning robots to commercial and industrial facilities across Melbourne — warehouses, factories, construction sites, sports venues, and more.
We're growing fast and need a hands-on Operations Technician to join our small team. This is a ground-floor opportunity with a company building the future of autonomous robotics.
What you'll do:
• Deploy and commission autonomous cleaning robots at customer sites across Melbourne
• Perform scheduled servicing — replacing brushes, squeegees, filters, and consumables on 90-day cycles
• Troubleshoot robot issues on-site and remotely using our fleet management platform
• Map new sites and program cleaning routes using the robot's interface
• Maintain our fleet of 20+ robots and growing, ensuring they're clean, charged, and ready for deployment
• Coordinate with customers on access, scheduling, and site requirements
• Transport robots between our warehouse and customer sites
• Document service records and update our operations dashboard
• Support demos and trials for prospective customers
What we're looking for:
• Hands-on and mechanically minded — comfortable working with machines, not afraid to get on the tools
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport (you'll be driving between sites daily)
• Strong communication skills — you'll be the face of Hyper Robotics at customer sites
• Self-starter who can manage their own schedule and prioritise tasks
• Interest in robotics, technology, or automation (experience not required — we'll train you)
• Physically fit — robots weigh 80-150kg and require manual handling with trolleys
• Based in Melbourne's west or able to commute to Laverton
Nice to have (not required):
• Experience with autonomous systems, IoT, or industrial equipment
• Trade background (electrical, mechanical, mechatronics)
• Experience in facilities management or field service
• Forklift licence
What we offer:
• Get in early at a robotics startup with serious growth plans
• Work with cutting-edge autonomous technology daily
• Variety — no two days are the same, you're out on sites across Melbourne
• Direct access to the founder — no corporate layers
• Career growth as we scale the fleet and expand into new markets
This is a full time, on-the-road role based out of our Laverton warehouse. You'll be the person keeping Melbourne's robot fleet running.
