The Langham, Melbourne is currently recruiting for a part- time (3 days a week) Reservations Sales Agent to join Melbourne's premier luxury hotel.

About the role

You will have the opportunity to work with the Reservations department which consists of approximately 4 colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity for you to grow your hotel skill set in order to build a career with-in The Langham, shall you be determined and dedicated.

The successful candidate will be required to work on a rotating roster (inclusive of weekends).

This position is an integral part of a high performing hotel team, and a key contributor to the hotel's ongoing success.

Previous experience in Front Office or Reservations with Opera Knowledge will be essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting queries via telephone, responding via email, monitoring our on-line reservations, up-selling over the telephone & assisting loyalty member guests with queries.

- Maximising sales opportunities within the hotel, ensuring all queries and bookings are carried out in an accurate and time effective manner

- Ensuring a high level of product knowledge is maintained in order to explain services and facilities to clients as required

- Processing all correspondence on a daily basis

- Ensuring that all reservations are made within the guidelines of daily status

Skills and experience

For this role, your attributes will be inclusive of the following:

- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a luxury hotel or similar environment

- Proficient in the use of Opera (reservations booking system)

- Immaculate presentation and grooming standards

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Attention to detail

- Ability to work well under pressure

- Professional and positive attitude

- Able to work over a seven day rotating roster – morning & afternoon shifts
