Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Defence Logistics Capability Analyst to support the development and delivery of strategic Defence logistics capabilities through a major capability acquisition project.
The successful candidate will provide specialist logistics capability advice to support capability planning, development and integration activities. Working closely with senior Defence stakeholders, project teams, industry and technical specialists, the role will contribute to the design of future Theatre Logistics capabilities and ensure alignment with Defence capability requirements, governance frameworks and operational objectives.
This position is ideally suited to a former Australian Defence Force logistics professional with a deep understanding of theatre-level logistics operations, strategic supply chains and capability development processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and provide specialist logistics capability assessments and advice regarding logistics effects, capability suitability and system integration.
- Support Defence logistics capability planning activities and provide guidance on capability requirements to achieve project outcomes.
- Represent the Capability Sponsor in Defence forums and stakeholder engagements.
- Apply Defence logistics policy, governance, doctrine, concepts,
and regulatory expertise to support project planning and decision-making.
- Develop and deliver Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) assessments, including the analysis of interdependent projects and capability relationships.
- Assess logistics requirements raised through Defence governance processes and contribute to capability prioritisation activities.
- Contribute to the development, review and refinement of project documentation, submissions, briefs and capability artefacts.
- Support the design, development and delivery of Theatre Logistics capabilities across Defence.
Essential Requirements
- Current NV1 Security Clearance (or higher).
- Experience in the Australian Defence Force in a logistics-related role.
- Demonstrated experience providing logistics planning, capability development or sustainment advice within Defence environments.
- Strong understanding of military logistics effects, doctrine, concepts, processes and capability delivery.
- Experience supporting capability development, requirements definition and project delivery activities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and briefing skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities within complex Defence environments.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in Defence capability development, Force Design, or Headquarters environments.
- Understanding of the Defence Capability System (DCS) and Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC).
- Experience supporting strategic logistics planning across joint, integrated or coalition operations.
- Familiarity with Defence experimentation and war-gaming activities.
- Knowledge of Defence procurement, sustainment and acquisition processes.
- Experience developing business cases, capability submissions or senior executive briefs.
