About the Role
The School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences combines interdisciplinary areas in forensic science, mathematics and statistics, analytical, physical and chemical sciences; with the school looking to backfill a Senior Operations Officer until February 2029.
The role is responsible for providing high-level administrative and operational activities while actively collaborating with centralised university teams. The role will also deliver high-level administrative, facilities and operations support; streamlines processes, and ensures consistent, service delivery; and be an advocate for operational excellence and fostering partnerships between faculty, divisional administration and centralised services.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• Demonstrated experience in a similar administrative role in a large, complex and high-pressured environment.
• Strong organisational and planning skills with a keen attention to detail, including the ability to prioritise workloads, work under pressure and remain adaptable to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in the use of a range of software programs and computer applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as experience in the use of databases and record management.
• High level interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to build relationships and positive rapport with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make recommendations leading to best outcomes for staff and students.
• Ability to work with limited supervision, with a small team, and a willingness to help others.

Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $101,262 to $109,641 per annum (HEW 6)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full time and appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis until February 2029 (to backfill staff secondment). A hybrid work arrangement is available which comprises of working 4 days onsite at the UTS Broadway Sydney campus and 1 day remote.
