Since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has delivered vital aeromedical, emergency and primary health care across Australia. Through our Patient Transport Service, we provide non‑emergency patient transport in Victoria and Current South Wales, supporting patients with safe, compassionate care as they travel between home, hospitals and specialist clinics-on the ground and in the air.

About the role

Flying Doctor Patient Transport is seeking motivated and caring AHPRA-registered Nurses to join our Bairnsdale/Sale team. This full-time role offers flexibility, structured training, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians in a supportive environment-without the pressures of emergency response work.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- Perform patient assessment and clinical interventions during road transport
- Deliver safe, compassionate care aligned with RFDS clinical guidelines and NEPT regulations
- Monitor patients and evaluate responses to treatment en‑route
- Work collaboratively with a partner clinician in a team‑based model

Qualifications and experience required:

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Completion of a nursing graduate year or recent experience in ED, ICU, HDU,



CCU or Theatre or 400 hours of clinically supervised ambulance/transport experience
- Experience working in the NEPT sector in an equal role desirable but not essential
- Full Victorian Driver Licence
- National Police Check, Working with Children Check and right to work in Australia

Mandatory vaccination policy:
