GMB Water delivers essential water, recycled water and wastewater services to communities across the Adelaide Hills. As a council-owned water authority, they take a long-term, community-focused approach to managing critical infrastructure, backed by strong governance and a genuine commitment to service quality. They are seeking an Asset Information and GIS Officer to manage and maintain their asset and spatial data systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Asset Information and GIS Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining GMB Water's asset information systems and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Reporting to the Manager Planning, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity and accessibility of asset data and spatial information to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:

- Develop, manage and update asset registers as per GMB Water’s Asset Information Strategy and Standard, ensuring new asset data and condition assessments are entered accurately and on time.
- Manage spatial data and GIS databases, including accurately collecting and recording as-constructed drawings for new and gifted assets.
- Liaise with contractors and developers to obtain and validate incoming asset and spatial information before system entry.
- Provide GIS support, including mapping and spatial analysis, to internal stakeholders, and develop GIS standards and best practices.




- Integrate asset information systems and GIS data with other organisational platforms for cohesive data use.
- Prepare analytical reports, dashboards and spatial analyses to support strategic planning, operational decisions and regulatory reporting.
- Identify and lead opportunities to improve data management practices, including data quality assurance and control procedures.
- Build solid working relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders including developers, regulators and government departments.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- High level technical skills across GIS platforms (e.g. ESRI ArcGIS) and asset information systems such as Maximo or Assetic.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering construction plans and as-constructed drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including interpersonal and conflict resolution ability.
- Proficiency in database management and a high level of computer literacy.
