About the role

The purpose of the Lifestyle Activities Officer position is the creation and evaluation of both individual and group lifestyle programs that are culturally secure, resident focused, and support resident independence, creativity and dignity. These programs are aimed at ensuring residents feel valued and that they are still motivated to engage in activities of their choice. All activities must be performed in accordance with the Nareeba Moopi Moopi PA Aged Care values to plan, coordinate and facilitate activities for Moopi Aged Care facility residents.

Key responsibilities

- Assist and facilitate activities in accordance with the schedule of activities and identify and document a resident's lifestyle needs.

- Encourage, supervise and support residents' participation in activities.

- Understand and support the physical, emotional and lifestyle rights, needs and responsibilities of residents including encouraging their independence and reinforcing their capabilities.

- Coordinate regular group outings for residents in the community.

- Identify, purchase/source and coordinate all resources required for activities.

- Assist in the review and evaluate the effectiveness of activities on a monthly basis.





- Assist in the completion of risk assessments.

- Prepare monthly newsletters for Moopi residents and families.

- Keep accurate and reliable information and records for every facilitated activity including resources, resident participation, effectiveness and areas for improvement.

- Report accurate and reliable information about residents' participation in activities on a daily basis.

About you

- Minimum of 3 months or more Aged Carer experience.

- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

- Demonstrated understanding and respect of cultural needs and requirements.

- Demonstrated ability to plan and organise own work, manage multiple tasks and work independently.

- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, discretion, judgement and maintain confidentiality.

- Demonstrated typing and computer skills and knowledge of computer software programs including the Microsoft Office suite.

- Current drivers licence.

- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

- Ability to undertake the physical requirements of the position.
