About the Business
Our client is a skilled women's basketball team competing in Australia's national women's basketball league, and part of a wider sporting organisation that also fields a men's national league team. It's a high-performance, fast-paced sports business where the season is everything — commercial success on the ground translates directly into a bigger, more engaged fan base.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a driven, relationship-led Business Development Representative to own day-to-day ticket sales activity for the team — across single match, group, family, community, membership and premium audiences. You'll be the on-the-ground commercial presence for the fan base, partner network and game day experience, working closely with the Business Development Manager, Premium Ticketing and the Head of Ticketing & Membership Growth to shape pricing, product and campaign decisions.
This is a great fit for someone who's passionate about women's sport, energised by hitting targets, and creative about finding new ways to fill seats and grow a community.
What You'll Do Ticket Sales & Attendance Growth
- Drive ticket sales revenue and attendance targets across the season.
- Generate single match, group, family and community ticket sales through proactive outbound activity, grassroots networks and partnership channels.
- Build and execute an outbound plan covering schools, basketball associations, women in sport networks, community groups, corporates and family audiences.
- Identify and convert new audience segments to grow the fan base and lift average attendance per home game.
- Use ticketing and CRM data to identify lapsed buyers, prioritise outbound activity, and report weekly on pipeline and conversion.
Premium Seating & Memberships
- Sell premium seating, corporate experiences and memberships to new and existing clients.
- Manage day-to-day premium client relationships, including renewals, upgrades and game day hospitality.
- Work with the Business Development Manager,
Premium Ticketing and the Head of Ticketing & Membership Growth on premium product development, pricing and positioning.
Game Day & Client Experience
- Be the visible, on-the-ground commercial presence at home games.
- Coordinate catering and set-up for the premium lounge and surrounding areas.
- Deliver a high-quality game day experience for premium clients, members, group buyers and corporate guests.
- Capture client feedback and feed insights back into product, marketing and game day planning.
Marketing, CRM & Reporting
- Partner with Marketing on demand generation campaigns, ticket offers and conversion tactics.
- Maintain accurate CRM records of all leads, conversations and client activity.
- Provide weekly sales reporting on pipeline, revenue and forecast.
Wider Support
- Provide administrative and sales support (approx. 10% of the role) to the Business Development Manager, Premium Ticketing across both the men's and women's programs, including CRM data entry, lead list building, car parking allocations, client correspondence and game day logistics.
About You
- 1–3 years of sales experience in a BDR, ticketing, membership or partnerships role — essential.
- Genuine passion for women's sport and a strong interest in basketball.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Confident, professional communicator across phone, email, in person and game day environments.
- Strong relationship-building skills with both corporate clients and grassroots community contacts.
- Proficient with CRM and ticketing platforms, or a fast learner.
- Available to work evenings, weekends and home games during the season.
Working Arrangements The season runs from September to April, representing the peak operational window for the business and generally a block-out period for annual leave. The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends to support game day operations and other scheduled events during the season. A Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) policy applies to additional hours worked on game days.
