JOHNEX is seeking an experienced and motivated Plant Superintendent to join our manufacturing operation at the McLarty Explosives Reserve, Yarloop WA.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about safety, continuous improvement, and developing people. Working closely with the Plant Manager, you will oversee explosives manufacturing operations, lead plant personnel, and ensure the facility maintains the highest standards of compliance, quality, and operational performance.

About the Location

Our McLarty manufacturing facility is located near the coastal community of Preston Beach, approximately:

- 120 km south of Perth

- 55 km from Mandurah

- 60 km from Bunbury

- Close to Myalup and Yarloop

The standard working week is Monday to Friday, with manufacturing operations generally operating Monday to Thursday.

About the Role

As Plant Superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day production activities while supporting safety, compliance, training, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, environmental, and quality requirements.

- Manage daily production and distribution activities.

- Lead, mentor,



and develop plant personnel.

- Drive improvements in training systems, procedures, and documentation.

- Conduct investigations into incidents and events and implement corrective actions.

- Monitor plant performance and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

- Support compliance auditing and regulatory requirements.

- Foster a positive culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.

- Experience in explosives manufacturing, chemical processing, food manufacturing, or a similar regulated industry.

- A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.

- Experience conducting investigations and implementing corrective and preventative actions.

- Experience with compliance auditing and process improvement.

- Robust communication and people leadership skills.

- High-level computer literacy, or the willingness and ability to develop these skills.

- Relevant licences, permits, and security clearances as required.
