Join an established Brisbane commercial law firm and work within an experienced succession team across estate planning, estate administration and related advisory matters.
Working directly with a Partner, Senior Associate and Consultant, you will have the support to strengthen your technical skills while taking greater ownership of files and client relationships.
This role will suit a Wills & Estates Lawyer who has built a solid foundation and is ready for more responsibility, broader exposure and the opportunity to continue progressing within a well-established practice.
The Role
You will work across a varied range of matters, including:
- Drafting wills, including testamentary trust wills
- Preparing enduring powers of attorney and related estate planning documents
- Advising clients on estate planning and succession strategies
- Managing deceased estate administration matters
- Reviewing family trusts, company structures and asset arrangements
- Preparing supporting succession and asset planning documentation
- Liaising directly with clients, accountants and other professional advisers
- Conducting client meetings and progressing matters from initial instructions through to completion
- Managing your own files with support on more complex matters
- Assisting with estate and succession disputes where required
The core focus of the role is estate planning, succession advice and estate administration,
with some exposure to related disputes matters.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Approximately 2–4 years’ PAE, though candidates with less PAE and a genuine interest in estate planning are encouraged to apply
- Practical experience in Wills & Estates
- Exposure to estate planning and deceased estate administration
- Strong drafting and attention to detail
- Sound file management skills
- Confidence communicating directly with clients
- A professional and empathetic approach
- A genuine interest in building your career in succession law
You will be supported on more complex matters while continuing to develop the confidence and capability to manage files independently.
