About the Firm:

Our client is a well-regarded boutique commercial and property law practice based in Brisbane, with a long-standing reputation for practical, timely advice across commercial property, retail leasing, strata and business law.

As the firm continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Special Counsel to step into a genuine leadership position,



working on retail leasing and broader commercial property matters across Queensland while mentoring junior lawyers within a collaborative and supportive team.

About the role:

The role centres on retail leasing and shopping centre matters, complemented by a broader commercial property and business law caseload.

- Retail leasing transactions and shopping centre investment matters across Queensland
- Commercial property sales, purchases and leasing more broadly
- Strata titling and property development files
- Business sales and purchases, and shareholder or corporate restructuring
- Commercial contracts and franchising matters
- Managing complex files autonomously while mentoring junior lawyers

What you'll bring:

- 5-7+ years PAE in commercial property, retail leasing and/or commercial law - Private practice experience essential (5 years minimum)
- Confidence managing clients and files autonomously
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- A commercially astute and culturally aware approach to client service
- Mandarin or Cantonese language skills highly regarded, though not essential
- Current unrestricted Queensland practising certificate
