Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) to provide strategic medical leadership in the creative and safe use of digital technology, clinical informatics, data, analytics, and AI. The CMIO will be responsible for ensuring that the electronic medical record (EMR) and associated digital technologies support and enhance medical and clinical workflows, leading to measurable improvements in the safety, quality, and experience of patient and family-centered care. This role involves developing and leading the medical digital health strategy, fostering medical engagement, and providing clinical governance for the adoption of emerging technologies. The successful candidate will also be at the forefront of shaping digital medical practice, working with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the digital transformation agenda of the organization.

Applicants for the CMIO position at the company should hold an MBBS or equivalent, with current Specialist Medical Registration,



and have an expert understanding of EMR functionality. Experience in EMR implementation and/or optimization, as well as a background in health data, analytics platforms, and data-driven quality improvement, is essential. The role requires demonstrated leadership in influencing clinicians and leading change, as well as experience in leading high-performing and agile informatics teams. Highly regarded qualifications include a Fellowship (FRACP or equivalent) and/or certification in health informatics, and experience in the evaluation, governance, or deployment of AI and predictive analytics in healthcare. The CMIO will also be involved in digitally enabled models of care, innovation, and the education and engagement of medical staff in the use of digital technology, data, and AI.
