Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour + $22.41 daily travel allowance when attending site for work
We are currently seeking a Construction / Carpentry Trades Assistant to join our team on a project in Everton Park.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous construction or carpentry experience who enjoys hands‑on work and wants the opportunity to develop their skills while working alongside experienced tradesmen.
About the Role
You will initially work alongside experienced Carpentry Tradesmen assisting with the construction of an overhead timber walkway within school grounds.
Duties will include:
- Cutting, fitting and installing timber
- Assisting carpentry tradesmen with construction tasks
- General construction and labouring duties
- Following directions and working as part of a team
- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
The initial carpentry component is expected to run for approximately 1 month. For the right person who is happy to continue with general labouring duties, there is an chance to remain with the team and transition into civil construction works for the remainder of the project.
The overall project is expected to run for 6+ months, with opportunities to continue on future projects and potentially transition into a full-time permanent position for reliable and hardworking workers.
About You
- Has previous experience using power tools
- Has experience working on carpentry, construction or similar projects
- Is comfortable working alongside qualified tradesmen
- Can follow directions and take instruction
- Holds a White Card - essential
- Has a current driver's licence and reliable transport
- Is physically fit and capable of labour-intensive duties
- Is reliable, punctual and has a strong work ethic
- Can commit to working Monday to Friday each week
- Has full Australian working rights
