An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, motivated and passionate Sonographer to join Lumus Imaging at Mercy public hospital in Werribee as the Tutor Sonographer. This is a great opportunity for an experienced sonographer to pass on their wealth of knowledge, expertise and skills by mentoring, training and supporting their co-workers in the training, and upskilling of trainee sonographers, junior sonographers, and experienced sonographers.
This role is suitable to an experienced sonographer who is looking to make a real difference in growing what is already a large corporate imaging practice in Australia and make a significant impact in the company’s culture in Victoria.
Werribee Mercy Hospital, located just 25 km west of Melbourne on the Princes Highway, is a dynamic public general hospital offering a wide range of services, including surgical, maternity, orthopaedic, and a 24-hour emergency department. Since opening in January 1994, the hospital has grown rapidly to meet the needs of Melbourne’s quick-growing western suburbs. A new emergency department is currently underway and will be open for use at the end of October 2026. The expansion will increase treatment spaces from 33 to 67. This includes four new resuscitation bays, 16 short stay beds and 36 emergency care cubicles to care for a rapidly growing population.

Essential
- Qualified Sonographer with extensive experience in ultrasound imaging; musculoskeletal, vascular, general, obstetrics and interventional.
- Experience in undertaking 1 on 1 training of beginner sonographers, through to the upskilling and providing further growth to more experienced sonographers as well as educating referrers
- Leadership qualities that encourage change
- Experience in the development of sonographer training programs
- Experience in presenting and sharing information through different media and techniques.
- Experience in the development and delivery of a sonographer CPD program
- Knowledgeable and experienced in using the latest ultrasound imaging techniques and technologies
- Ability to manage a team and work within a team environment
- ASAR Accreditation
- A strong commitment to quality and patient care- essential
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise busy workloads
- Capable of working independently and in a team
Employment with Lumus Imaging is conditional on attainment of a Working with Children Clearance and National Police clearance.
