Head Chef – The Produce Store - Mansfield

You will be supported by an excellent Sous-Chef, (happy in her role, just not wishing to be Head Chef)

We will assist with accommodation, either in our own staff accommodation, and/or through our very strong network.

3 Reasons why this might NOT be the kind of job for you;

1. You will need to have Excellent spoken English skills.

2. This is not a ‘Beginners’ role, we get busy, you need to be super organised, capable, and motivated. (we do 140 – 250 covers p/day)

3. It's not a formula based cafe, you have to be very pro-active.

Skills and commitment that we need:





- Demonstrated experience in helping manage a fast paced and flexible kitchen
- Excellent cooking skills for short order -breakfast & lunch, as well as bulk cooking for our range of take home meals, and off-site function packages
- Ability to create/manage weekly specials, rostering, forecasting and COGS
- Career minded with good leadership skills, able & keen to grow and develop other people too.
- Able to write and maintain operational procedures & follow thru. You must be computer literate.

What will you look like? Someone who has:

- Diploma or above of Hospitality Management
- At least 3 years demonstrated experience as a chef in a medium sized café
- Strong customer & staff focus and a passion for food
- Consistently high customer service standards
- Commitment to your own progress and that of our team.
- Strong compliance focus, … our kitchen is super clean, food well stored, temperatures checked etc.
- Desire and ability to engage with our local community
- Very strong English language skills (spoken and written), good communication and leadership skills.
- Well-rounded, operational experience within the hospitality industry
- Ability to take curve balls in your stride.
- Reliable vehicle and current driver’s licence.
