Job Overview

The Client Engagement Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional phone-based client engagement and support while identifying opportunities to enhance the client experience through additional financial service offerings. This role plays a key part in client relationship management, retention, and pipeline development by proactively connecting with clients, understanding their needs, and coordinating opportunities with advisers.

This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in telesales, customer engagement, or phone-based customer service who are looking to progress their career within the financial services and financial planning industry.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

- Proactively contact clients via phone and maintain professional relationships.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create positive client experiences.
- Build rapport and trust with clients through effective communication.
- Support client retention initiatives and strengthen long-term client relationships.

Opportunity Identification & Pipeline Development

- Identify opportunities to support clients with additional areas of their financial needs.
- Generate and maintain a pipeline of potential client opportunities for advisers.
- Coordinate and book ad hoc advice opportunities for financial advisers.




- Work collaboratively with advisers to understand and address client requirements.

Administration & Coordination

- Maintain accurate records of client interactions within CRM systems.
- Ensure timely follow-ups and updates on client discussions and opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and workflow management.
- Support reporting and tracking of client engagement activities where required.
- Develop a strong understanding of financial planning services and client needs.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
- Contribute ideas to improve client engagement and communication processes.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma/Degree qualification in Business, Management, Marketing, Finance, or a related field would be an advantage.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in telesales, customer service, call centre, client servicing, or a similar phone-based role.
- Previous exposure to financial services or financial planning will be an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong phone etiquette and confidence in client conversations.
- Ability to identify opportunities through relationship-based conversations.
- Solid customer service and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work towards targets and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
