Repair and maintenance of diesel engines
- Maintaining, repairing, servicing and modifying a broad range of machinery and equipment in line with relevant transport legislation and standards.
- Workshop maintenance to include all servicing and maintenance of equipment and machinery.
- Using computers, instruments and specialised tools to diagnose and repair faults.
- Measure parts to ascertain the extent of the damage and wear and tear, and then repair or replace the parts.
- Analysing drawings to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed.
- Determines suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings.
- Assemble and fit machined parts.
- Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size.
- Testing repaired parts for proper performance.
- Creating a suitable maintenance schedule and performing system maintenance accordingly.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification - Mechanical Engineering is desirable
- Highly skilled and experienced in heavy machinery and equipment maintenance with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
- Reliable and has valuable communication skills.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
- High attention to detail and display a positive & self-motivated attitude.
- Good management skills and can work with minimal supervision and work in a team environment.
- Must have a current Driver's Licence.
- Must be able to utilise job instructions.
- Must be flexible and able to do overtime.
- Able to learn new technology if needed.
- Able to fit into a family-operated business.
