As Principal Hydrogeologist, you'll:

- Lead high-profile groundwater investigations.
- Deliver complex projects across mining, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.

- Collaborate with world-class scientists and technical specialists to deliver practical, science-based solutions

This is a full time role reporting to the Director / Technical Lead in Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and delivery of hydrogeological investigations.

Oversee groundwater modelling using industry-standard tools (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW, AQTESOLVE) for dewatering, water supply, and impact assessments.

Prepare and review high-quality technical reports, proposals, and regulatory submissions.

Manage multidisciplinary projects, including scope, budget, timelines, and client communication.

Undertake site visits, field supervision, and stakeholder engagement as required.

Support business development through proposal writing, client relationship management, and identification of new opportunities.

Mentor junior and mid-level hydrogeologists, fostering technical excellence and professional development.

Promote the company brand through conferences, industry events, and professional networks.

Ensure compliance with all HSE, quality, and professional conduct requirements.

About You!

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Hydrogeology, Geology,



Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

10-15 + years’ experience in hydrogeology, ideally within consulting, mining, or infrastructure sectors.

Proven track record leading complex groundwater projects and managing key client relationships.

Strong technical expertise in groundwater assessment, aquifer testing, hydrogeological interpretation, and groundwater modelling (MODFLOW, FEFLOW or similar).

Experience designing and managing groundwater monitoring programs and field investigations.

Sound knowledge of groundwater licensing, environmental approvals, and regulatory frameworks in Queensland (WA/NT experience advantageous).

Understanding of groundwater–surface water interactions, mine dewatering, water supply assessments, and impact assessments.

Excellent communication and report writing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Commercially minded, with experience supporting business development and strategic growth initiatives.

Committed to safety, quality, and professional excellence.

Highly Regarded:

Experience with hydro-geochemistry and tools such as PHREEQC.

Proficiency in GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS).

Exposure to mine closure planning, water balance modelling, or integrated water management.

Established industry network and a demonstrated ability to win and grow client relationships!
