Opira

Queensland

Opira is a market-leading distributor of indoor air quality and laboratory equipment solutions throughout Australia. Established in 2002, Opira partners with globally recognised international manufacturers to supply state-of-the-art products and support services across the healthcare, education, research, commercial and industrial sectors. Known for our technical expertise and commitment to customer satisfaction, Opira is at the forefront of innovation, quality and service excellence.

We're growing the Sanuvox sales team across Queensland, the Northern Territory and Northern NSW, and looking for a self-starter who can build a pipeline and close current business. This isn't a cold start — Sanuvox is already the premier UV disinfection brand in the Queensland market, with a strong existing foundation of product placement across the territory, an established customer base and an active pipeline of quotes and orders ready to build on from day one. You'll get structured onboarding and full technical training on the Sanuvox product range, backed by an experienced team — but we're looking for someone who already knows how to build a pipeline and close, not someone learning sales for the first time.

The Role

Build client relationships, grow a prospect pipeline and win new business — with real autonomy to drive your own territory across QLD, NT and Northern NSW. This is a technical sales role: as much about getting into plant rooms and influencing engineers at the design stage as it is about the commercial close.

Key Responsibilities

Generate leads through networking, referrals, cold outreach and market research

Drive specification of Sanuvox solutions into new building and HVAC projects by engaging mechanical consultants, engineers and building services contractors during design and tender stages

Prepare and submit technical and commercial tender responses, and build relationships with EPC and MEP contractors

Get hands-on on site — meeting BEMS and facilities managers, inspecting plant rooms (including hospitals) and getting familiar with AHUs, FCUs and other HVAC infrastructure to build genuine technical fluency

Build relationships with facility managers, mechanical consultants, contractors and asset managers across the territory

Prepare quotations and proposals for UV disinfection systems

Monitor competitor products, pricing and market activity, feeding insights back to the business

Maintain accurate records of activity and opportunities in the CRM

Manage the full sales cycle — follow-up, negotiation, close

Support handover of awarded projects to the technical/service team

Attend industry events and networking functions to grow your professional network

What We're Looking For

Demonstrated B2B technical sales experience, ideally with a track record of hitting or exceeding targets

A self-starter who can generate and drive a pipeline with minimal oversight

Comfortable with regular travel across a large territory (QLD, NT and Northern NSW) and getting hands-on in technical, field environments — plant rooms, AHUs, FCUs and mechanical spaces

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Organised and reliable — you follow through and don't let things slip

Right to work in Australia

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems

Engineering background strongly encouraged, given the technical nature of the Sanuvox range

Experience with specification selling and/or preparing technical and commercial tender submissions, ideally with exposure to consulting engineers, EPC or MEP contractors

Background in HVAC, indoor air quality, water treatment or technical/scientific equipment sales

Experience selling into healthcare, government, food & beverage or industrial facilities

Existing relationships with mechanical consultants or contractors

What's on Offer

Base Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Commission: Uncapped commission on top of base — this is a profitable, high-growth portfolio for Opira

Vehicle: Car allowance provided

Tools: Mobile phone and laptop provided

Training: Structured onboarding and full technical training on the Sanuvox UV disinfection product range

Be careful - Don’t provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs. Don't transfer any money or complete suspicious online surveys. If you see something suspicious, report this job ad .
