POSITION OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this role is to manage and provide leadership across the business operations in the assigned area to deliver on the company purpose, values and goals.

The role will focus on:

Effectively leading protected and sustainable operations

Managing the workshop production and efficiency of the team to ensure all projects are manufactured within quoted and budgeted man hours

Identify potential shortfall in workshop capacity and communicate to management

Ensure WHS and Environmental compliance

Quality assurance of work

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality:

Promote a safe, positive work environment and alignment with the Access Covers Australia’s objectives

Manage, oversee, and monitor activities to ensure work that is undertaken meets specifications and quality requirements, WHS obligations

Report all health, safety and environment near misses, accidents, and injuries in a timely manner

Ensure safe and secure working conditions and compliance with site safety management plan

Monitor employee health and wellbeing, provide support, and take appropriate action where required

Generate and implement health, safety, and environment improvement ideas to improve the performance of the business.

Raise, investigate, and action all quality related incidents, customer complaints or risks

Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks

Manage the return-to-work plans of team members due to work related and non-work-related injury/illness

Ensure all employees carry out their duties in a secure manner and adhere to the companies’ policies and procedures

Leadership and Management:

Demonstrate you are living Access Covers Australia’s core values and professional leadership behaviours

Lead team in an engaging and collaborative manner which values employee alignment and engagement.

Be a key member of the leadership team

Encourage and support team members participating in business and improvement initiatives

Actively participate in Management meetings and contribute towards the achievement of the Group’s strategic and operational objectives





Work with others in an engaging manner, providing clear communication and cooperation

Lead the team in direction and structure of the business for profitability and long-term success

Lead and coordinate workers, resources, and program to deliver the products to the highest quality, sustainability, and safety standards

Mentor and elevate the capability of the team to minimize risks and capitalize on opportunities

Work with the Human Resources department to ensure compliance with the relevant employment policies and statutory requirements

Manage communication, disputes, and conflicts between team members

Work within the structure of Access Covers Australia

All other duties instructed and required by Management within your capabilities and training

Delivery:

Lead and coordinate workers, resources and programs to manufacture products to the highest quality, sustainability and safety standards

Establish, review and maintain clear goals and systems to manage the production schedule

Oversee activities of the department ensuring efficiency within the operations and setting goals

Identify areas of improvements and concerns and develop action plans with team members

Maintain professional standards, meeting the company’s objectives in relation to budget targets, service quality, company reputation, QA, WHS and environmental standards

Support and advise team members in operations and technical direction

Proactively pursue innovative means of growing awareness of products and capabilities of the business

Monitor and report performance, costings, budgets and productivity of the business

Customer and Commercial:

Maintain a culture of customer service excellence

Communicate effectively with customers to meet client demands and delivery schedules

Contributing to continual improvement by identifying cost-saving measures,



improvements, increase in the market share and profitability

Grow and maintain brand retention

Address business requirements from clients in a professional manner

Ensure industry knowledge is to a high standard, in line with current technologies and practices

Fit for Work:

Present yourself fit for work for each shift, free from drugs and or alcohol

Advise Management of any medication (non-prescription and prescription) being consumed that could have an impact to the work you undertake or the working workplace

Advise Management of any allergies or injuries you may have or gain, that could have an impact to the work you undertake or the working environment

Actively participate in any required employment medicals and or drug and alcohol testing as required to ensure fit for duty

ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:

To satisfactorily fulfil this role, the Production Lead must have the following skills and attributes:

Have proven previous experience as a Leader or similar role

Strong leadership, mentoring skills and proven success managing teams

Commitment and proven ability to influence a strong and positive health, safety, environment and quality culture

Have a strong working knowledge of concrete products industry

Have a background in manufacturing

Have strong planning and scheduling skills

Be able to follow and take direction from Management

Proficient verbal and written communication skills required for internal and external dealings and negotiations

Well-developed time management skills, ability to prioritise workload, delegate, manage several tasks simultaneously and deliver on deadlines

Proficient level of computer/systems literacy and willing to continually upskill as required

Proven track record of providing high level of customer service

Proven leadership, supervisory and people skills supported by formal management/leadership training ie. Certificate IV in Front Line Management or equivalent (desirable)

Have working knowledge of relevant Australian regulations and standards

High level of written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Hold and maintain an unrestricted class "C"
