Job Description

Placed.au is looking for a full-time Hospitality Area Manager for our client in Cremorne, Victoria. This role is responsible for leading and driving the efficient operations of multiple hospitality venues, ensuring operational excellence, exceptional guest experiences, financial performance, people leadership, and compliance across the allocated portfolio. Venue Operations

- Work with the COO to establish venue business plans for your portfolio of brands including the preparation of financials, marketing and sales projections and estimates to drive revenue.
- Drive the strategy to ensure an innovative and profitable operation in accordance with best people and management practices.
- Identify, create and implement processes and service enhancements to improve the COGS and achieve higher levels of profit without compromising on quality.
- Provide day-to-day venue support to venue management teams (attend weekly management meetings, venue team meetings, and ongoing site visits as required).
- Monitor guest satisfaction by evaluating and auditing food, beverage and service offerings; initiate improvements where required.
- Oversee timely execution of marketing initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to optimise efficiency, productivity, and revenue generation.
- Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge across the group.

People and Performance

- Drive accountability through the venue managers to ensure the achievement of the operational and venue performance score cards.
- Build and lead high-performing teams, providing guidance,



mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Promote and exemplify a positive service culture, displaying a high commitment to exceptional service.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the venue teams.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
- Establish performance goals and objectives for the venue teams, regularly assessing performance and providing constructive feedback.
- Conduct performance management where necessary to ensure all disciplinary incidents and/or accolades are documented and follow-up action plans are issued and completed within the prescribed timeframe.
- Self-assess to determine developmental needs and use feedback to identify ways to improve competence.

Financial

- Assist in the development and implementation of budgets to achieve overall annual budgets and KPIs for all venues within your portfolio.
- Review daily, weekly and monthly reports and communicate areas of shortfall to the team.
- Ensure all rostering is compliant and in line with budgets reflecting business levels.
- Ensure all operational cost percentages including venue maintenance and repairs, inventory, are within budget whilst ensuring the highest quality products and services are delivered.
- Develop and implement annual plans in conjunction with the COO to ensure achievement of annual budgets and KPIs.
- Oversee the management of labour costs across the allocated area and partner with the respective venue management teams to ensure an efficient and effective labour model.
- Ensure that hours worked in your areas of responsibility are always reflective of set manning requirements.




- Complete financial reporting as required by the business.
- Monitor systems and processes to establish whether resources are used as planned and investigate problems, rectify and report as required.
- Ensure accurate ordering based on business requirements and reduce wastage.

Health, Safety, Environment and Compliance

- Foster a safe work setting for all crew and ensure everyone works in a safe manner and follows all workplace health and safety policies, practices and guidelines.
- Ensure that all FOH and BOH operations comply with all health and safety regulations and food handling standards.
- Participate in HS&E; programs and activities as requested.
- Ensure all crew are trained on proper food handling, preparation and storage techniques to meet HACCP and WHSE (Workplace Health, Safety and Environment) requirements.
- Ensure all kitchen crew are aware of allergen and dietary requirements for guests.
- Ensure all repairs are logged with Maintenance and carried out to an appropriate level.

Qualifications / Attributes

- Must hold a relevant Diploma, or at least three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
- Must possess at least one (1) year of relevant work experience in hospitality management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to build and mentor high-performing teams.
- Proven experience managing budgets, labour costs, forecasting, sales analysis and financial reporting.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and develop strategies to drive operational performance.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high operational standards.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

Salary Range $75,000 - $90,000 per annum excluding superannuation.
