DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a contract opportunity with this government client based in Portsmith, Cairns. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled project management qualified to lead the delivery of building and construction projects across Far North Queensland.
About the Role
As the Project Manager, you will coordinate and manage all aspects of building project delivery, from initial planning and design through to construction completion and post-construction activities. You will work closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage building project implementation activities, including pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction phases.
- Ensure projects meet client requirements relating to scope, cost, quality, cash flow, and delivery timeframes.
- Manage and coordinate project team members, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Provide high-level contract administration across traditional and non-traditional contract delivery methods.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and negotiations to achieve value-for-money outcomes.
- Monitor project performance, manage risks, and control project variances through reporting and audits.
- Contribute to fee estimation, client billing approvals, and overall project profitability objectives.
- Foster solid relationships with clients and internal business units to support successful project outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Demonstrated Project Management experience within building, construction, infrastructure, or related environments.
- Strong contract administration and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience coordinating multiple project activities and delivery teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound knowledge of project controls, budgeting, and reporting processes.
- A commitment to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
- Proven Project Management experience.
- Familiarity with the Far North Queensland (FNQ) region.
- Ability to commence as soon as possible
