Providing track protection services to maintain safe working conditions for rail workers
Monitoring and controlling access to the rail corridor to prevent unauthorised entry
Communicating with rail traffic controllers to coordinate safe passage of trains
Operating track protection equipment such as flags and other signalling devices
Responding to and reporting on any safety incidents or emergencies
Completing detailed records and documentation related to track protection activities
What we're looking for
Entry level and experienced positions available.
Strong understanding of or ability to acquire rail safety regulations and track protection procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with rail workers and traffic controllers.
Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in a dynamic, safety-critical environment.
Physically fit and able to perform physical work in an outdoor environment. Applicants will be required to undertake a CAT 1 Rail Industry Medical Exam including drug and alcohol testing.
Current driver's licence.
Valid driver's licence must be held at the time of application.
Construction Induction Card (White card) or willingness to obtain.
Applicants will be required to undertake 2 stages of Queensland Rail approved Psychometric testing.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
