This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished educational leader to lead a unique independent school with a strong commitment to bilingual education, academic excellence and the integration of Italian language and culture across the curriculum.
The Chance
The Principal will provide the educational, operational and strategic leadership of the School, ensuring the delivery of high quality learning while fostering a safe, inclusive and positive environment for students, staff and families.
Working closely with the General Manager and Board of Directors, the Principal will lead the next chapter of the Italian Bilingual School with responsibility spanning educational excellence, school improvement, staff leadership, student wellbeing, operations, financial management, governance and community engagement.
The breadth of the position provides the incoming Principal with the opportunity to influence both the educational direction and broader organisational success of the School.
- Lead high-quality teaching and learning across the School and ensure the effective delivery of the NSW Curriculum and NESA requirements.
- Champion bilingual education and strengthen the integration of Italian language and culture throughout the learning experience.
- Develop and implement the School Strategic Plan and School Improvement Plan.
- Build a collaborative, high-performing and positive staff culture.
- Ensure a strong focus on student wellbeing, child safety and inclusive educational practice.
- Provide oversight of school operations, governance, compliance, risk and financial management.
- Strengthen partnerships with parents, families, educational organisations and the wider community.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing to support student enrolment, retention and the ongoing growth of the School.
About You
The Italian Bilingual School is seeking an experienced and relational educational leader who combines a strong understanding of teaching and learning with the ability to lead people, strategy and school operations.
You will demonstrate:
- Recognised teaching qualifications and current NESA accreditation.
- Significant experience in educational leadership.
- A demonstrated capacity to lead improvement in teaching and learning.
- Strong people leadership and staff management capability.
- Experience overseeing school operations and budgets.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A sound understanding of school governance, compliance and risk management.
- A strong commitment to child safety, student wellbeing and inclusive education.
Experience within an independent school environment, bilingual education, Italian language and culture, enrolment growth or CLIL methodology would be highly regarded.

The Principal reports to the General Manager and is responsible to the Board of Directors, working closely with the broader Co.As.It. organisation to support the ongoing success and sustainability of the School.
