Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and prepare high-quality technical and operational documentation.
Bring 8+ years of hands-on experience managing and supporting enterprise-scale, production AWS environments, including 3-4 years of experience with Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and GitHub Actions-based CI/CD.
Possess 2-3 years of practical DevOps and CI/CD experience, particularly in designing and managing Kubernetes-focused deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Demonstrate strong capabilities in monitoring, automation, solution engineering, troubleshooting, and technical leadership, including the ability to guide and mentor teams of approximately 6-10 engineers.
Hold the following AWS certifications:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate - Mandatory
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Qualified - Mandatory
Implement and integrate cloud-native and SaaS monitoring solutions including Amazon CloudWatch, Container Insights, and Application Insights, with the ability to develop consolidated dashboards and unified operational views.
Experience with APM platforms such as AppDynamics or New Relic will be advantageous.
Analyse AWS consumption, usage trends, and major cost drivers to identify optimisation opportunities.
Implement cost-reduction measures including resource rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, lifecycle management, data retention strategies, and storage-class optimisation.
Design and review cloud architectures in accordance with the AWS Well-Architected Framework, with particular focus on cost efficiency.
Prepare cost analysis, forecasts, projections, and governance recommendations for technical and business stakeholders.
Contribute to project delivery and RFP / solutioning activities, providing architecture and technical recommendations aligned with AWS standards.
Exposure to security and compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, SOC 2, and ISO 27001/ISO 27000 series is preferred, including experience supporting audit and governance requirements.

Technical Requirements – AWS
- Extensive hands-on experience across AWS IaaS and PaaS services, with architecture knowledge aligned to the expectations of an AWS Solutions Architect – Professional.
- Strong practical expertise in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and automated infrastructure provisioning.
- Advanced experience managing Amazon EKS and Amazon ECS environments.
- Experience with AWS Control Tower, Landing Zones, AWS Organizations, and multi-account cloud environments.
- Strong operational experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, high-availability architectures, business continuity,
and disaster recovery solutions.
- Extensive BAU support experience across AWS services including:
- EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, AWS CLI, RDS
- ELB, ALB, NLB, ElastiCache
- CloudFormation, Lambda, CloudWatch
- Route 53, CloudFront, SNS, Systems Manager
- DMS, EKS, ECS, Glue
- Workplace environments and OS/resource patching
- Experience supporting and optimising microservices and cloud-native architectures, with emphasis on security, scalability, resilience, and performance.
- Strong scripting capabilities using AWS CLI, Bash, Python, or equivalent scripting technologies.
- Experience with AWS development and deployment services including CodePipeline, CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience deploying and supporting cloud-native applications, with exposure to Elasticsearch or equivalent search technologies.
- Strong database support experience across enterprise workloads using Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Amazon DocumentDB.
- Working knowledge of additional AWS services such as AppStream, CloudTrail, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, DynamoDB, EFS, FSx, Glue, KMS, Organizations, Step Functions, S3, and Route 53 Resolver.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux; relevant certification will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of on‑premises-to-AWS migration approaches, cloud adoption patterns, and cross‑cloud migration strategies.
- Strong knowledge of AWS PaaS capabilities, cloud architecture principles, design standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience with ECS, Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), Terraform, CloudFormation, and other cloud orchestration technologies.
- Ability to create and maintain detailed technical specifications, functional documentation, architecture diagrams, deployment guides, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Secondary Skills
- Good understanding of SDLC processes and hands‑on experience with Jenkins, Kubernetes, and test automation.
- Experience developing automation scripts using PowerShell, C# cmdlets, Python, PHP, or similar technologies.
- Practical experience with configuration and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
- Ability to automate, configure, validate, and monitor networking, security controls, routing, IP forwarding, virtual machines, and cloud service roles.
- Working knowledge of AWS CloudFormation templates and infrastructure provisioning patterns.
