Reward strategy in a university context is rarely straightforward - academic remuneration sits at the intersection of enterprise agreements, and nuanced policy frameworks. What You'll Be Working On

Leading technical remuneration assessments and data-driven analyses to inform academic staff appointments, adjustments, and alignment with University frameworks

Providing specialist advice and reports to HR partners and senior leaders on complex remuneration matters across the employee lifecycle, guided by enterprise agreements, legislation, and market trends

Conducting internal and external benchmarking and market research to keep Monash competitive, maintaining up-to-date insights on emerging reward practices

Designing and implementing strategic reward projects, policies, and compliance procedures, particularly across senior appointments and university-wide initiatives

Fostering collaborative partnerships across business units and external networks to support cross-functional projects and continuous improvement of reward operations

What You'll Bring

Demonstrated experience in a specialist reward, remuneration, or HR advisory role - ideally within a large, complex organisation

Working knowledge and interpretation of enterprise agreements, remuneration policy, procedures, and employment legislation as it applies to remuneration and employment conditions

Strong planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills,



with a proven ability to manage competing demands, allocate resources effectively, and meet tight deadlines

Exceptional attention to detail, quality, and accuracy, maintaining high standards within a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Advanced relationship management and consulting capabilities, with the discretion and confidence to engage, negotiate with, and influence senior leaders on sensitive matters

Confidence navigating ambiguous or precedent-setting cases with sound judgement and a solutions focus

Strong analytical capability, with experience translating remuneration data into clear, actionable advice

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex remuneration data into clear, authoritative advice for diverse audiences

Familiarity with academic workforce structures or the higher education sector will be highly regarded
