For more than 20 years, we've partnered with some of the world's largest mining companies to help them operate more safely, efficiently and sustainably. Today, our enterprise technology monitors more than 40 billion litres of fuel, tracks 107 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions, and is deployed across 300+ sites globally.
We're looking for an experienced Machine Vision Engineer to own and grow our computer vision capability. This isn't a research role where your work sits in a notebook—it goes into production, solving real problems for global customers.
If you're excited by LiDAR, 3D computer vision, edge AI and taking ideas from prototype through to production, we'd love to hear from you.
Help build the future of industrial AI.

What you'll be doing
You'll take ownership of VERIDAPT's machine vision and analytics capability, developing solutions that operate reliably in demanding industrial environments.
You'll:
- Design and develop 3D point cloud and LiDAR processing pipelines
- Build computer vision models for detection, measurement and segmentation
- Train, evaluate and optimise machine learning models for industrial applications
- Deploy models to edge hardware and optimise performance
- Progress solutions from concept through field trials into production
- Evaluate cameras, LiDAR sensors and edge computing hardware
- Build reusable tooling, datasets and vision pipelines
- Work alongside software, platform and hardware engineers to deliver customer solutions
- Travel occasionally to customer sites for captures, commissioning and field trials
What we're looking for
You'll likely bring experience in several of the following:
- Strong experience with 3D computer vision, LiDAR or depth sensing
- Computer vision model development including detection and segmentation
- Machine learning model training, evaluation and optimisation
- Deploying ML or AI models to edge or embedded devices
- Python and modern computer vision libraries
- Taking technical ownership and delivering solutions into production
- Working independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Nice to have
Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:
- Mining, industrial automation or IoT
- Point cloud processing
- Sensor integration and calibration
- Camera systems
- Edge computing
- Robotics or autonomous systems
Why this role is different
Many machine vision roles stop at proof of concept.
This one doesn't.
You'll own the entire lifecycle from selecting sensors and collecting field data through to deploying production systems used by some of the world's largest industrial organisations.
You'll have the autonomy to influence the technology roadmap,
evaluate new approaches and build capability that scales across multiple products.
What we offer
- Genuine hybrid working (Sydney preferred, remote considered for the right candidate)
- Laptop provided
- $299 annual wellbeing allowance
- 2 additional VERI GOOD Days each year to support your wellbeing or volunteer in the community
- Additional paid parental leave
- Employee Assistance Program including coaching and counselling
- Ongoing learning and development opportunities
- $3,000 employee referral bonus
- A collaborative team solving complex engineering problems with real-world impact
