Job Description
- Must Have Skills: Priorworking experience in the Australia public sector.
- Prior experience working in enterpriseor government/public sector environments with compliance-driven storage andbackup operations.

Detailed Job Description: We are seeking a Senior StorageEngineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizingenterprise storage infrastructure. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for storage technologies, including Dell EMC PowerMax, SRDF replication, andSnapVX. Leads critical production environments, disaster recovery strategies,IBM Power 10 AIX servers, Dell PPDM,
SAN Cisco switches and performanceoptimization initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- 12–18 years of hands-onexperience in enterprise storage and backup administration, with a strongtrack record of managing large-scale data center environments and supportingmission-critical infrastructure across production and non-production systems.
- Demonstrated deep expertisein Dell EMC PowerMax (PMAX) storage arrays and Dell Data Domain platforms,including configuration, management, troubleshooting, and performanceoptimization in enterprise environments.
- Solid proficiency in SANtechnologies, including Cisco switch management, zoning configurations, andfabric administration, ensuring seamless connectivity, high availability, andoptimal SAN performance.
- Extensive hands-on experiencewith LUN provisioning, masking, and storage allocation, ensuring efficientstorage utilization, proper host mapping, and adherence to best practices instorage management.
- Proven experience in backupscheduling, execution, and restoration processes, covering full andincremental backup strategies while ensuring data integrity, reliability, andsuccessful recovery during critical scenarios.
- Solid understanding andpractical application of ITIL frameworks, including incident, problem, andchange management processes, ensuring structured operations and compliancewith organizational service management standards.
- Hands-on experience infirmware upgrades and patch management for storage arrays and SAN devices,ensuring systems remain up-to-date, secure, and compliant with vendor andorganizational requirements.
- Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills with the ability to perform capacity planning, analyzeperformance trends, and implement optimization techniques to improve overallsystem efficiency and scalability.

- Identify performancebottlenecks across storage arrays, SAN infrastructure, and backup systems,and proactively resolve issues through root cause analysis, ensuring minimalimpact to production workloads and preventing recurring incidents.
- Perform data restorationactivities during incidents, outages, or on-demand requests, ensuring timelyrecovery of critical data in alignment with defined RTO and RPO objectiveswhile validating data integrity and completeness.
- Conduct regular systemmaintenance and execute firmware upgrades for storage arrays, SAN switches,and backup systems, ensuring systems remain stable, secure, and compliantwith vendor recommendations without impacting business operations.
- Perform routine system andstorage maintenance activities such as monitoring health status, reviewinglogs, and validating configurations to ensure optimal functionality,reliability, and system readiness at all times.
- Ensure all storage, SAN, andbackup systems operate within defined performance thresholds and servicelevel agreements (SLAs), continuously monitoring metrics and takingcorrective actions to maintain uptime and service quality.
- Implement robust accesscontrol mechanisms and encryption standards to protect sensitive data,ensuring secure storage environments and compliance with organizationalsecurity policies and industry best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive auditlogs for all backup, recovery, and system activities, ensuring traceability,accountability, and readiness for internal and external audits whilesupporting compliance requirements.
- Follow and enforce dataretention and disposal policies by managing backup lifecycle processes,ensuring proper data archival, retention, and secure deletion in accordancewith regulatory and organizational standards.
ADDITIONAL
- Bachelor’sor master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or arelated field.
