About the Opportunity
We're looking for a driven Compliance Governance Lead to join our Risk & Governance team at an exciting time in our organisational journey. As we work towards our 2028 strategy, this role plays a key part in strengthening our frameworks and supporting the business in meeting its regulatory obligations.
You'll operate in the second line of accountability and support the Head of Compliance and Customer Advocacy to enhance and maintain the compliance management framework. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing oversight, guidance and direction to ensure effective compliance risk management and design across Adica.
This is a hybrid role based at our St Kilda Road office in Melbourne.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Supporting and enhancing Adica's compliance management framework and promoting a strong culture of compliance.
- Providing technical leadership, coaching and oversight to compliance team members and the wider business.
- Assist Adica to meet its compliance obligations under relevant laws and the requirements of regulatory authorities.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures and reporting frameworks.
- Lead and coordinate incident and breach management, including regulatory reporting and remediation.
- Provide strategic and legal oversight and direction in respect to compliance obligations to support breach assessment and operational advice.
- Design and conduct compliance reviews.
- Deliver clear, insightful reports and support Board and executive reporting cycles.
- Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulators such as ASIC, APRA, CGC and OAIC.
- Drive continuous improvement through compliance monitoring programs and governance initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- A bachelor's degree in law.
- 3-7 years' experience in risk and compliance within financial services, with insurance experience highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian regulatory landscape.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation.
- Proven ability to think critically, make sound decisions and solve complex problems.
- Experience coaching or mentoring others and contributing to team development.
- Confidence working with data and systems, with the ability to adapt to new tools quickly.
- Experience building solid stakeholder relationships.
- Able to demonstrate resilience, adaptability and a solutions-focused mindset.
