Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Brisbane team for a self-sufficient and motivated Project Engineer or Project Manager. You will work collaboratively to manage and deliver EPC projects along with multidiscipline engineering and design projects within the industrial and resources sector from initiation through completion. Working collaboratively with clients, engineers, and designers across various commodities and project types, this role offers opportunity to drive team growth and become a key client focal point.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Manage multidiscipline engineering and EPC projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, budget, and schedule.
Support or lead end-to-end EPC project delivery, overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction phases, including management of contractor packages, vendor engagement, procurement scheduling, and site handover to operations.
Develop project scopes, proposals, and execution plans in collaboration with technical and management teams.
Oversee project controls including progress tracking, planning,
and scheduling to maintain transparency and accountability.
Coordinate design activities and procurement packages across electrical, mechanical, civil, instrumentation, and process disciplines, managing vendor engagement and ensuring integration of all project elements.
Facilitate design and safety reviews, ensuring compliance with EMtek's standards, client specifications, and relevant Australian codes.
Prepare and review technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
Engage with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to foster positive relationships and support repeat business.
Contribute to continual improvement initiatives, supporting and mentoring less experienced team members, and promoting a culture of collaboration and safety.
Conduct site visits and provide construction oversight, including management of contractor performance, site safety compliance, and commissioning activities through to project handover.
Represent EMtek throughout the complete project lifecycle, ensuring client satisfaction and delivery excellence.
About you

Skills and experience
Tertiary qualification in Engineering
Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering multidiscipline engineering and/or EPC projects, ideally within a consultancy environment in the resources or renewables sectors
Experience gained as a project engineer,
project delivery engineer, or project manager is valued as highly as formal project management experience
Exposure to both greenfield and brownfield project environments
Demonstrated understanding of multidiscipline engineering design principles
Multi-disciplinary engineering design experience is desirable
Experience or exposure to project controls, scheduling, financial management, and contract administration, with the appetite to take full ownership of these
Experience or exposure to construction management, including contractor oversight, site supervision, and commissioning through to project handover
Experience or exposure to procurement and package management, including preparation of vendor scopes, RFQ processes, and purchase order administration
Excellent organisational, communication, teamwork, and time management skills
Strong technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to think outside the box
