Electrical Team Leader – Solar & Battery

You’re already a strong electrician. Now you’re ready to lead the crew

SJ Power is looking for an experienced Solar Electrical Team Leader to take ownership of residential solar and battery installations across Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and Central Coast.

This isn’t a role where you’ll just turn up, complete your part of the install and head home.

You’ll be the person responsible for the job.

You’ll lead the crew, set the standard on site, solve problems as they arise and make sure every installation is completed safely, efficiently and to the standard our customers expect.

You’ll still be hands‑on and on the tools — but you’ll also be developing the people around you and taking ownership of the result.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

As Electrical Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of your crew and your installations from start to finish.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Leading solar and battery installation crews on site
- Setting the pace and standard for workmanship
- Coordinating the team to keep jobs running efficiently
- Staying hands‑on with electrical and installation work
- Troubleshooting and solving problems on site
- Ensuring installations meet safety, compliance and quality standards




- Communicating professionally with customers
- Developing apprentices and less‑experienced team members
- Taking responsibility for the quality and completion of every job

We’re looking for someone who doesn’t need to be chased.

You see what needs to happen, communicate with your team and get the job done properly.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll be an experienced electrician with strong solar and battery knowledge who is either already leading teams or ready to take the next step in your career.

You’ll need:

- Current NSW Electrical Licence
- Current SAA accreditation (preferred)
- Strong residential solar and battery installation experience
- Experience leading tradespeople in the field — formally as a supervisor/team leader or as the senior person on site
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance
- Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to troubleshoot and make decisions on site
- A high standard of workmanship
- A positive attitude and willingness to take ownership
