About the Role

As a Vacation Care Educator or Lead Educator, you will play an important role in creating memorable holiday experiences for children through engaging, play-based programs, activities, and excursions.

Key Responsibilities

- Delivering fun, inclusive, and engaging activities and experiences
- Leading and supporting on-site programs and excursions
- Creating safe, welcoming, and well-supervised environments
- Supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and developmental needs
- Building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging
- Ensuring children's wellbeing and safety remain at the centre of all interactions
- Contributing to high-quality School Holiday Programs
- Following policies, procedures, and legislative requirements

About You

We're looking for individuals who:

- Have a solid commitment to safety and child wellbeing

Suitable Candidates

- Bachelor of Education (Primary or Secondary) students in their third year or beyond
- Qualified teachers seeking flexible work during school holiday periods
- Diploma or Certificate III qualified educators
- Individuals looking to grow their experience in children's services

Qualifications & Requirements

To be considered, applicants must hold or be working towards an approved qualification relevant to children's services.

Essential requirements include:

- ACECQA-approved Certificate III, Diploma, or higher qualification (or actively working towards a Diploma or higher qualification)
- Current Employee Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid certification (HLTAID012) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

YMCA Geelong Board and Management are committed to the safety and well-being of children and young people in accordance with our Child Safety and Wellbeing framework. All applicants must undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:

- a national criminal history check;
- an international criminal history checks where applicants have worked overseas;
- holding or obtaining a valid Working with Children Card;
- Three reference checks.

The successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Child Safety and Well-being Policies and practices, which include: Child Safety and Well-being induction, annual SCYP training programs & committing to upholding the safety and well-being of children and young people throughout terms of employment.
