About the Role
Two exciting opportunities are available for enthusiastic and motivated Grade 1 Dietitians to join the Nutrition & Dietetics Department at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. We are currently recruiting for two full-time, fixed-term positions, with one opportunity available until January 2027 and the second until September 2027.
Working as part of an experienced and supportive team, you will provide high-quality Nutrition & Dietetics services across a varied caseload, with opportunities to work across inpatient and outpatient settings. Reporting to the Manager, Nutrition & Dietetics, you will provide evidence-based, patient-centred care while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes. We are looking for Dietitians who bring a flexible and proactive approach, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality clinical care. Previous experience within a tertiary hospital environment will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely, evidence-based and patient-centred Nutrition & Dietetics assessment and intervention.
- Manage a varied clinical caseload across inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
- Develop and implement appropriate nutrition care plans, including ongoing evaluation and documentation.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary care, including team liaison and discharge planning.
- Participate in multidisciplinary and Nutrition & Dietetics team meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Actively participate in the department’s clinical supervision program.
- Contribute to quality improvement and professional development activities within the department.
Your Contribution
- Qualifications that provide eligibility for full membership with Dietitians Australia and participation in the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) program.
- Well-developed clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage a varied caseload.
- A flexible, collaborative and patient-centred approach to your work.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience within a tertiary hospital or similar healthcare setting is highly regarded.
- Current Australian working rights for the duration of the position. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for these opportunities.

About the Nutrition & Dietetics Department
The Nutrition & Dietetics Department at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne employs more than 30 Dietitians and provides services across acute and subacute care, designated outpatient clinics and Residential Aged Care Facilities.
The department is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based Nutrition & Dietetics care and offers a collaborative environment that supports professional growth and development. The Nutrition & Dietetics Department is also a core clinical placement site for Nutrition and Dietetics students and is actively involved in clinical education, supervision, quality improvement and research.
