We’re looking for a technically minded Instructional Designer / Implementation Officer with strong implementation experience and confidence using AI-assisted tools to create practical, engaging learning solutions.

You will help staff across NSW Health adopt complex digital systems, including AI-enabled features, automation and decision-support workflows, in a secure and effective way.

About us

System Performance Support (SPS) is a branch within NSW Health that partners with health service executives, clinicians, and other Ministry teams to improve the performance and sustainability of health services across the state.

Specifically, you will be joining the State Operational Data Store (ODS) Program.

The ODS Program develops dashboards and digital tools to monitor performance, including the Patient Flow Portal, which tracks bed availability, discharge processes, and cleaning workflows, to enable a variety of statewide initiatives.

About the role:

The Instructional Designer / Implementation Officer supports the successful rollout of State ODS Program applications by designing, developing and maintaining training documentation, eLearning content and implementation materials.

The role works closely with the Implementation Team,



Senior Business Analysts and Project Managers to translate complex system changes into clear, accessible and engaging learning experiences, including content that supports the adoption of AI-enabled tools, automation and intelligent system workflows.

The Health Manager level 4, starting salary from $153,559 - $182,954 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38-hour work week.

What you will do

Drive collaboration with Ministry of Health (MoH) and Local Health District (LHD) stakeholders to design and deliver implementation plans and high-quality training materials to support the rollout of key systems, including the Clinician Billing Portal, Revenue Portal, Paperlite, Patient Flow Systems framework, and Patient Flow Portal (PFP) modules for acute and integrated care.

Work collaboratively with MoH teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the new guidelines, processes, systems, user experiences and the documentation requirements impacting the implementation of state-wide solutions.

Design, develop and deliver engaging digital, scalable and AI-assisted learning solutions, including interactive, scenario-based, virtual and self-service training experiences.

Use generative AI and modern learning technologies to accelerate content development, tailor materials for different user groups and rapidly update resources as systems change.

Manage the delivery of training and other implementation activities. This includes preparing and updating training and implementation plans, conducting training sessions and ensuring implementation plans are adhered to by the LHDs within the agreed timeframes. Scope, write and design appropriate blended learning materials to meet different end user needs.

About you:

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health. We are looking for:

- Experience (> 2 years)



in developing high quality digital and AI-enhanced end user training experiences for use in various delivery modes.
- Experience (> 5 years) in running customised training workshops for staff that have differing levels of experience in the utilisation of technology.
- Experience (> 1 year) in AI-assisted content creation tools, modern digital learning platforms and driving the adoption and behaviour change with emerging technologies around AI-enabled system features, decision support tools and automated workflows.
- Experience (>5 years) using Microsoft 365 technologies, including Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word, enterprise knowledge management and service platforms including Confluence, ServiceNow and Azure DevOps, and rapid eLearning development tools such as Captivate and Camtasia.
- Experience (> 2 years) in developing implementation plans, processes and tools to support the implementation of complex enterprise systems that impact numerous stakeholder groups.
