An exciting prospect is available for an experienced Engineering Specialist to join a major organisation operating within Australia's aviation technology environment.

This is a long-term contract working with complex, safety-critical operational and communications systems, providing hands-on involvement across the full systems engineering lifecycle.

The Role

You'll work within a highly skilled engineering team responsible for the implementation, enhancement and ongoing sustainment of critical technology systems.

Key responsibilities include:

- Apply Systems Engineering practices across requirements, design, integration, verification and validation.
- Support the design, development, testing and implementation of telecommunications systems.
- Develop technical specifications, system requirements and engineering documentation.
- Prepare test plans and test cases and participate in system testing and integration activities.
- Investigate complex technical issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Monitor system performance, reliability and maintainability.
- Manage configuration across hardware, software, firmware and documentation.
- Provide specialist technical expertise across engineering projects.
- Work closely with engineering, architecture, security, operational teams, vendors and suppliers.

About You

You'll bring:

- A relevant degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering,



Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience applying Systems Engineering principles and practices.
- Strong experience with telecommunications systems, including design, development, testing and implementation.
- Knowledge of analogue voice/audio components and circuitry.
- Knowledge of analogue DC control and monitoring signalling components and circuitry.
- Experience with quality assurance and configuration management.
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
- Excellent technical documentation skills, including system design and solution architecture documentation.
- Ability to take ownership and deliver outcomes with limited direction.

Highly Desirable

Experience or knowledge across any of the following will be highly regarded:

- RPEQ / Professional Engineer registration
- N-tier architectures and distributed systems
- Real-time systems
- Internet technologies
- Information Security Manual (ISM) principles and controls
- DO-278A software assurance guidelines

Contract: 24 months
Rate: $1,100 per day inclusive of super
