The Development Coordinator will play a central role in achieving the National Gallery’s ambitious philanthropic goals. If you have an interest in fundraising and philanthropic work, the Gallery is looking for you.

In this role you will assist with delivering the Gallery’s philanthropic strategies and activities to grow income streams that support a range of projects within the Gallery such as new exhibitions, touring exhibitions, commissioning works of art and enabling art education.

The Development Coordinator will assist in cultivating and stewarding a range of major donations, including bequests and major gifts. The Development Coordinator is responsible for researching, planning, implementing, and evaluating a range of projects at the Gallery, including organising a variety of events and producing donor-oriented communications.

The successful applicant will report to the Development Manager and join a team of five collaborative and supportive fundraising professionals. You will be a valuable fit in the team if you work with integrity and optimism and model best practice fundraising behaviours.

The key duties of the position include:

In accordance with the APS 5 work level standards, you will:

- Provide administrative support for the operations of the National Gallery’s Foundation including:
- financial accounting functions
- processing donations and receipts and administering collective fundraising campaigns
- administrative assistance to the Executive Director including management of the departmental diary and projects timeline
- minute taking at all department meetings
- perform secretariat arrangements, such as agendas and meeting papers, for Foundation Board meetings and AGMs
- assist with the compilation of the Foundation Annual Report and other print materials and publications and




- assist with arranging travel and accommodation bookings as required.

- Oversee Foundation events planning and delivery including:

- prepare invitation lists
- draft and coordinate delivery of print and digital invitations and event collateral
- Manage RSVPs and event guests’ requirements
- liaise with event providers and external suppliers.
- In collaboration with the Development Manager and Assistant Manager, plan, develop and deliver annual giving campaigns.
- Prepare and coordinate correspondence from the Director, Chair of the NGA Foundation and Executive Director of the Foundation to benefactors as required.
- Maintain and manage Foundation data in the Tessitura database to ensure accuracy. Undertake primary research on current and potential donors and incorporate this information into the database.
- Coordinate the timely delivery of analyses, reports and lists from the database, as required by the National Gallery’s Foundation and Executive.

Eligibility

Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the Gallery, you must be an Australian citizen.

Police Check – to be eligible for this role you must complete a police check.

Role specific mandatory qualifications /certification and/or registrations include:

- Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated track record in fundraising and philanthropy are desirable.
