This is a practical yard-based role for someone who takes pride in keeping materials, vehicles and equipment organised. The position includes truck driving, loading and unloading, stock handling and general yard duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised yard.
- Receive, check, store and prepare construction materials, tools and equipment.
- Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate equipment and manual-handling practices.
- Complete deliveries and collections between the Greendale yard, suppliers and project sites.
- Prepare materials and equipment for upcoming jobs and confirm items are ready for dispatch.
- Complete vehicle and equipment pre-starts and report faults or damage promptly.
- Assist with basic stock counts, delivery dockets, returns and yard records.
- Clean and maintain vehicles, tools, equipment and storage areas.
- Help prevent lost time on site by making sure crews receive the correct materials and equipment.
- Current Australian truck licence. Applicants must state their licence class when applying.
- Safe and responsible driving history.
- Ability to carry out manual handling and outdoor work safely.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
- Positive organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to complete basic paperwork and use a mobile phone for work-related communication.
Highly Regarded
- Forklift licence or experience loading and unloading construction materials.
- Previous yard, warehouse, transport, civil construction or trade-supply experience.
- Knowledge of civil or electrical construction materials, tools and plant.
- Construction White Card and additional plant or lifting competencies.
Hours and Location
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based at the Mackex yard in Greendale. Applicants must be able to reliably travel to and from Greendale for each rostered shift.
