Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST) is a division of the Tasmania Department of Health that provides public dental care services to eligible Tasmanians. Its primary goal is to improve oral health outcomes across the state, particularly for vulnerable and disadvantaged populations.
OHST is a team of approximately 300 people including dentists, oral health therapists, dental prosthetists, technicians, dental assistants and administrative staff. Care is provided from 33 clinics around Tasmania. Adult services are predominantly provided from 6 major centres located in Hobart (Recent Town), Clarence, Glenorchy, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie as well as the 3 Special Care dental Units (located within hospital precincts). Child and Adolescent Services are provided predominantly from 23 community clinics which are either located in a community health centre or are a stand-alone clinic.
The Role:
- Provide an efficient and effective reception service to all clients and centre-based staff as well as administrative and clerical support to Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST) staff and external service providers.
- Liaise and assist in the coordination of the day-to-day functions of the Dental Centre and community clinics. Provide a clerical support service in relation to the administrative functions associated with primary patient care.
You will need:
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with all disciplines of professional staff.
- Ability to be flexible and work effectively as part of a team in a busy, demanding work environment, together with well-developed time management skills and the ability to prioritise work.
- Demonstrated ability to work with difficult and demanding clients, including a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
Details of appointment:
Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
$68,854 to $73,947 per annum (Pro rata) . Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Plus 25% Casual Loading - Equivalent of $43.38 to $46.59 per hour
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
