In this role, you’ll:

As a Senior Manager, Health & Safety Risk and Assurance, you will lead the development and implementation of Sydney Metro's annual Health & Safety Audit and Assurance Plan. This includes overseeing assurance activities relating to work performed by delivery partners, verifying management system compliance, assessing risk management effectiveness, and ensuring Sydney Metro's requirements and compliance obligations are met.

You will provide accurate, timely, and robust reporting to support effective governance and decision-making across Health & Safety programs. Through the analysis of audit findings, risk data, and assurance outcomes, you will identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement to drive meaningful health and safety outcomes.

You will also deliver independent verification of risk reports and assurance activities, providing insights, recommendations, and escalation of significant issues to senior management to support informed decision-making and timely action.

This is a 24-month temporary position based at our 680 George Street office in Sydney CBD. The role operates under Sydney Metro's hybrid working model, which forms part of the organisation's Flexible Working Arrangements and associated procedures. This includes a combination of required onsite attendance and approved remote working arrangements.

About you

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent industry experience, you’ll have demonstrated experience in leading Audit programs (including H&S; Audit programs) combined with a thorough understanding of systems and risk-based auditing.

You’ll have proven experience in Implementing a consistent, effective and collaborative auditing and risk control program across a mega program involving multiple contracts and stakeholders.

You’ll have experience developing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships to meet stakeholders’ expectations and are comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where delivery on tight deadlines is critical.
