Care That Matters
Bundaberg East
Bring Your Experience. Bring Your Heart. Bring Your Genuine Care.
At Care That Matters, we believe great support starts with one thing:
Genuine human connection.
It’s the conversation that makes someone smile.
The encouragement when something feels difficult.
The patience to try again.
The little moments that build confidence.
The trust that grows over time.
And, most importantly, recognising that the person you support is not defined by their disability. They are a person first — with their own story, goals, choices, personality and way of doing things.
We’re looking for Female Disability Support Workers who understand the difference that genuine connection can make.
People who bring experience but also bring empathy.
People who know when to step in — and when to step back.
People who listen.
People who notice the little things.
People who celebrate the big things.
People who genuinely care.
ABOUT THE ROLE
No two people are the same, which means no two days in support are the same.
As a Disability Support Worker with Care That Matters, you’ll work alongside the people we support to help them live as independently, confidently and meaningfully as possible.
Depending on the individual, your role may include:
- Supporting everyday routines and personal care
- Building independence and developing life skills
- Supporting community access and participation
- Attending appointments, activities and social events
- Assisting with household tasks and everyday living, including ILO
- Supporting personal goals and individual plans
- Encouraging confidence, choice and independence
- Supporting people to make their own decisions
- Providing calm, respectful support during challenging moments
But the role is about much more than completing a list of tasks.
You’ll be there to listen, encourage, empower and walk alongside someone.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable, respectful and genuinely passionate about supporting people to live life on their own terms.
You’ll ideally have previous experience in disability support and understand the importance of person-centred practice, dignity of risk, choice and control, and maintaining skilled boundaries.
You’ll also need:
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance — NO CARD / NO START
- Current Blue Card, where required — NO CARD / NO START
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Working rights in Australia
- Ability to meet all relevant employment, NDIS and organisational compliance requirements
A Certificate III in Individual Support or a related qualification is desirable.
But qualifications are only part of what makes a great Support Worker.
THIS IS MORE THAN A JOB.
It’s being trusted to become part of someone’s life.
It’s helping someone discover what they can do.
It’s celebrating progress that others may not notice.
It’s building confidence through small, consistent steps.
It’s creating moments of connection.
It’s showing up — reliably,
respectfully and genuinely.
And sometimes, it’s simply being the person who makes someone’s day a little better.
WHY CARE THAT MATTERS?
At Care That Matters, we believe our Support Workers matter just as much as the people we support.
We want to create a workplace where our team feels supported, respected, heard and valued.
Our approach is built around:
Kindness
- Connection
- Respect
- Teamwork
- Professionalism
- Genuine Care
We believe that when our Support Workers feel supported and proud of the work they do, that naturally flows through to the people we support.
You’ll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference in someone’s everyday life.
To build confidence.
To celebrate the wins — big and small.
To support people to make their own choices.
To be there when things are difficult.
And to share the everyday moments that make life meaningful.
At Care That Matters, we don’t simply provide support.
We build relationships. We create connection. We encourage possibility. We care.
READY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
If you’re ready to bring your experience, heart and genuine care to a rewarding role with Care That Matters across Bundaberg and surrounding areas, we’d love to hear from you.
Whether you’re an experienced Disability Support Worker or you're beginning your journey in the disability sector, we want to meet the person behind the résumé.
If you’re someone who believes that how you support someone matters just as much as what you do, you may be exactly who we’re looking for.
Come and be part of something that matters.
Care That Matters
Supporting people. Building connection. Creating possibility.
