Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is Tasmania's largest hospital, and its Immunology & Allergy Unit, incorporating the Jack Jumper Allergy Program, serves as the state's tertiary referral centre for all public Immunology and Allergy services.

As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role

Make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes by delivering protected, high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within the Immunology & Allergy Service. In partnership with patients, families and a multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialised care and support to people with allergic and immunological conditions, contributing to both clinical excellence and innovative research.

We are seeking nurses who have:

- Current knowledge of contemporary nursing principles, procedures and practices, with the ability to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care. Previous experience in Immunology & Allergy is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from nurses with experience in acute, outpatient and emergency settings who are interested in developing expertise in this growing specialty area.
- Experience, or a willingness to develop skills, in the recognition and emergency management of anaphylaxis. Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification is desirable (or a willingness to obtain),



along with cannulation and phlebotomy skills or an interest in further developing procedural competencies.
- Strong documentation, data collection and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams. Experience in research, clinical trials or quality improvement activities is highly regarded but not essential.

Details of appointment

Multiple roles

- Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible for two (2) months.
- Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 16 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible for three (3) months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
