The Company:
Is an international startup building application-specific robots that automate business workflows. They’re a global team with offices in
Australia, Hong Kong, USA, China, and Germany, backed by leading Australian VC investors, including Blackbird, Grok Ventures, and Skip Capital.
They design and deploy robotic solutions across construction, exhibition, and industrial environments, and are continuing to scale their global operations.
The Role:
You will be embedded within the Commercial Team, working alongside
business leaders to structure, negotiate, and execute high-impact deals.
Operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, you will balance legal risk with commercial objectives and act as a true business partner to the organisation.
Responsibilities include:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and relevant regulations
- Work directly with the Commercial Team on deal strategy, deal structuring, and client negotiations, contributing to successful deal outcomes from commercial inception through to contract signature
- Provide pragmatic legal support across corporate and commercial matters, while building systems that enable the business to scale effectively
- Lead regulatory and compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring the business operates within applicable legal frameworks
- Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments, advising on business impacts and supporting organisational readiness for change
- Self-evolve and self-learn current areas of law and new jurisdictions (with appropriate support)
You:
- At least 3+ years PQE (including a minimum of 12 months focused ondrafting and negotiating commercial agreementsand a strong grounding in contract law).
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communicationskills, plus a willingness to be brave and adopt astart-up mindset
- Strong commercial judgment with the ability tobalance legal risk and business outcomes
- Ability to work independently, manage multiplepriorities, and operate effectively in a rapid-pacedenvironment
- Strong learning capabilities and a willingness to trynew things
- Candidates from top-tier law firms are preferred, though excellent candidatesfrom other leading national or boutique firms are encouraged to apply
In addition to the above requirements, the following skills are helpful (but not required):
- Exposure to cross-border transactions or
international business environments
- MS Excel/numeracy skills (to enable you to better
contribute to commercial strategy discussions)
