Discovery Phase Leader (Learning) (Years 5 & 6)
Faith Lutheran College is entering an exciting new chapter. As we continue to grow and develop our innovative learning model, we are seeking an outstanding educational leader to join our team as Discovery Phase Leader (Learning).
Located in the heart of the Lockyer Valley, our campus is only a minute away from the Warrego Highway, making it an easy commute from Brisbane or Toowoomba. This pivotal leadership role provides strategic direction for curriculum, teaching, learning, and academic growth within the Discovery Phase (Years 5 & 6). Working alongside the Discovery Phase Leader (Wellbeing) and broader leadership team, you will foster a culture of excellence, innovation, collaboration, and student-centred learning.
The Role
The Discovery Phase Leader (Learning) is responsible for:
Leading curriculum implementation and ensuring alignment with College priorities and educational standards.
Driving high-quality teaching and learning through evidence-informed pedagogical practice.
Using data and assessment information to improve student outcomes and monitor progress.
Mentoring and coaching teachers to enhance professional growth and classroom practice.
Promoting differentiated learning approaches that meet the needs of all learners.
Collaborating with leaders, students, families, and staff to support holistic student development.
Overseeing curriculum compliance, learning initiatives, and relevant budgets.
Contributing to a culture where curiosity, conviction, and courage are nurtured in every learner.
About You
You are a passionate and future-focused educational leader who:
Holds teaching qualifications and Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration (or eligibility).
Has demonstrated experience leading curriculum design, implementation, and improvement.
Possesses a strong understanding of contemporary pedagogy, assessment, and differentiated instruction.
Uses data effectively to inform decision-making and enhance student achievement.
Has experience mentoring and developing teachers to achieve excellence in practice.
Builds positive and authentic relationships with staff, students, and families.
Is committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and collaborative leadership.
Supports and actively contributes to the Christian ethos, vision, and values of the College.
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Postgraduate qualifications in Educational Leadership, Curriculum, or a related field.
Experience within independent, P-12, or faith-based educational settings.
Familiarity with QCAA curriculum and compliance frameworks
A deep, active commitment to the Christian faith and Lutheran school ethos
