This paid 18-week Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) Program starting in September is designed to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants develop practical workplace skills, gain valuable hands‑on experience and complete a nationally recognised Certificate I in Workplace Skills.
This program provides the training, mentoring and support you need to build confidence and prepare for future employment.
What You'll Be Doing
Working alongside a supportive team, you'll gain hands‑on experience in:
- Providing friendly reception and customer service
- Scheduling appointments and managing calendars
- Answering phone and email enquiries
- Data entry and maintaining client records
- Preparing professional correspondence and reports
- Filing and document management
- Supporting day‑to‑day office operations
- Assisting clients in a professional and respectful manner

About You
We're looking for people who are:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Reliable and committed to work a Full Time roster - 38 hours Monday - Friday
- Friendly and motivated to learn with a willingness to take on new challenges
- Good communicators who enjoy helping others
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Interested in a career in administration or healthcare
- Adaptable and able to manage competing priorities
- Experience using Microsoft Office is an advantage but not essential
Mandatory Requirements
The successful applicant will be required to be able to be able to obtain or hold:
- Blue Card
- Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening Clearance)
- National Police History Check
