Run real matters. Not photocopies of them.
Most junior litigation roles look like this: you’re one of twenty, you draft discovery lists for a year, and you meet clients at the Christmas party.
This one doesn’t. At Chamray Law you’ll sit directly with our Partners, run your own files with supervision, and see disputes from the first letter of demand through to hearing and enforcement. If you can handle more, you’ll get more, that’s the deal.
What your first 12 months actually look like
- Appear and instruct: court appearances, directions hearings and mediations early, not “eventually”
- Run files end to end across five key areas:
- Commercial litigation: contractual and business disputes in the Supreme and District Courts
- Property and leasing disputes: contract for sale disputes, easements, retail and commercial leasing disputes
- Building and construction: security of payment, contract and defects claims
- Planning and environment: appeals, compliance and prosecution work
- Debt recovery and enforcement: letters of demand through to judgment
- Deal with clients directly: business owners and developers who call you, not a partner three levels up.
What we offer (the specifics, not the slogans)
- Competitive salary, reviewed at against your development, not a fixed annual cycle
- Genuine partner mentorship:
you’ll be trained, supported and stretched, never left to sink or swim
- Realistic expectations: no big-firm billable targets or timesheet anxiety; we care about your development and outcomes
- A explicit path: we’re a growing firm opening our second office in Parramatta, and we’re hiring because the work is there. Juniors who back themselves here become senior fast
- Modern practice: up-to‑date legal tech, no fax machines, no dictation tapes
About you
- Admitted (or eligible for admission) as a solicitor in NSW, with a current or readily obtainable practising certificate
- 0–2 years PQE — graduates finishing PLT are welcome to apply
- Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
- Confidence to pick up the phone, and the humility to ask when you’re unsure
- You want responsibility early, and you’re honest about what you don’t know yet
