Job Description

Image Stone Direct Pty Ltd With a strong reputation for craftsmanship and attention to detail, we are currently seeking to employ a skilled Stonemason to support our growing operations and ensure the continued delivery of exceptional workmanship and service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Study and interpret architectural drawings, plans, and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation methods.

Select suitable natural and engineered stone materials based on project specifications, design requirements, and intended applications. Fabricate stone products by measuring, cutting, shaping, polishing, and finishing materials using hand tools, power tools, and CNC equipment. Assemble and install stone features including kitchen benchtops, wall cladding, staircases, flooring, and other custom stone products for residential and commercial projects.

Prepare and position stone components using mortar, adhesives, and fixing systems to achieve accurate installation and durable finishes. Restore, repair, and replace damaged stonework while preserving its structural performance and visual appearance. Review construction drawings and site measurements to ensure accurate fabrication, installation, and compliance with project requirements.

Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy, finish quality, and compliance with safety and workmanship standards, while maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition.



Maintain and clean tools and equipment after a working day to ensure their longevity and efficiency, as well as keep the work area secure and organised for the next days’ work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

At least an AQF Certificate III (including at least two years of on-the-job training), or AQF Certificate IV in Stonemasonry (Monumental/Installation) or relevant field. Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in a similar role. Experience working with granite, marble, engineered stone, porcelain, and other natural stone materials.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt techniques to suit varying project requirements. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring equipment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
